In instructions pnflet .it says light must not be connected to lighting circuit .But to a fuse spur .
I'm an electrician why is that .Question by: Petet arnold on 10 Aug 2023, 09:48Please see below response from the manufacturer:
''I think it may need clarifying, what I think they are saying is that do not connect directly to a lighting circuit.
The factory says this because the light would always be on and you could not isolate (switch off) the light unless you switched off the whole lighting circuit.
So they suggest it is connected to a fused spur (like below) so it can be isolated and switched off.
They could also fit a normal 1 gang switch.''Answer by: Mathew Smith (Admin) on 10 Aug 2023, 11:48Can this be ceiling mounted as well as wall mounted? I notice a rather large 'cut out' on the drawing at the bottom (for cable, or possibly water to escape). Are there any way of improving the visuals of that when ceiling mounted? Does it come with a filler piece, for example, or is that knock-out sealed initially? Thanks.Question by: H Andrews on 27 Oct 2023, 13:04It wouldn't look good on a ceiling as its not a symmetrical design.
If you look at the brochure here:
https://user-5zq6k5a.cld.bz/Forum-Lighting-9-1-2023/164/
The go backwards 1 page, it shows another fitting which is the Cano.
https://www.downlights.co.uk/catalogsearch/result/?q=cano
That would be a better option for a ceiling mounted bulkhead with a PIR.
Or you could consider an LED bulkhead with a microwave sensor instead as the sensor is hidden inside the fitting.
Answer by: Chris Horridge (Admin) on 27 Oct 2023, 14:01Would this light be appropriate for conduit entry top and/or bottom?Question by: Russell Meah on 18 Dec 2023, 10:57This fitting has a rear entry connection, but its not a threaded conduit entry. I send you some images in a separate email.Answer by: Chris Horridge (Admin) on 18 Dec 2023, 13:54
