Varilight low voltage transformers that are available in a choice of wattage types ranging from 50 watt to 210 watt. The 50 watt version can be used to power MR16 LEDs but only the 50 watt version is trulty LED compatible. The 105 watt and 210 watt are not LED compatible but can be used with halogen.
Unlike other conventional transformers the Varilight Z type transformers have no minimum load!

I currently have halogen downlights Mr16 12V 20 Watt I don't dim them . Transformer is in the attic. Can replace these bulbs with LED Equivalent.Question by: Anne on 13 Nov 2023, 15:08Yes, we've written an FAQ about this:

To convert them into LED, its best to totally disconnect the transformer and go with mains voltage GU10 using this:
