Low glare downlight version of the popular EvoFire from Integral LED. The EvoFire is a new generation of GU10 fire rated downlights that are open rated and have an ultra slim bezel. Low glare downlights have the light source positioned further back within the structure to reduce glare. They also look modern and provide something different to the standard recessed design.
The open design provides optimum temperature conditions for the installed GU10 LED lamps which improves irflow and prevents heat from building up. Traditional fire can downlights with the black cans cut off air supply which reduces the lifetime of the LED and causes it to fail.
LEDs fitted inside EvoFire downlights operate at up to 10 degrees C cooler than enclosed can style downlights. The patented design of EvoFire downlights provides fire protection in its own unique way. By filling the hole with the Evofire downlight it utilises its own steel bezel and glass to create a barrier between the ceiling void and any potential fire outbreak. This effective design allows it to maintain the integrity of the fire-rated ceiling.
Rated at IP65 as standard which offers resistance to water and dust the ultra-thin, blend-in bezel of just 1mm in thickness allows the downlights to fit barely noticeably into a ceiling space. Designed specifically for use with LED lamps this includes mains voltage GU10 or low voltage MR16 with a maximum wattage of 10W. These low glare, fire rated downlights are ideal for any application including lounges, kitchens and bathrooms.
Fire rated and available with or without an insulation cover guard. The insulation coverable version allows you to lay insulation directly on top of them, helping to keep your room nice and cosy.

Fixed GU10 downlights don't offer any resistance to water, their IP rating is usually IP20. They have no seal and cost less.

Yes IP Rating SpecificationsIP (International or Ingress Protection) defines a products level of resistance to dust and moisture. The first digit is for dust and the second digit is for moisture.
Anything higher than IP44 can be used in bathroom zones 1 and 2. IP44 is splash proof and resistance to particles larger than 1mm.
An IP65 rating offers a higher resistance to moisture and is generally used outdoors. IP65 is usually specified for bathroom downlights but according to the Building Regulations, IP44 provides adequate protection.
An IP68 rating is fully water resistant and can be submersed in water, up to 1M in depth.
IP65 Insulation Coverable SpecificationsIn order to achieve Part L Compliance (energy efficiency) you shouldn't cut around thermal insulation. If you do this your home or building won't be energy efficient as valuable heat will escape through the hole of the downlight.
A downlight can act like a chimney and draw out warm, rising air from a room, up into the cold space above. The effect is increased in upper floors containing lofts.

The LED lamps need to be ordered separately though.Answer by: Chris Horridge (Admin) on 20 Feb 2023, 06:03What beam angle would this create?Question by: Jesper on 26 Nov 2023, 10:07The beam angle comes from the LED that you fit inside them. A 40 degree beam is medium and a 60 degree beam is wide.
While the LED is set back slightly within the downlight, it doesn't effect the beam spread of the LED.
