G9 LED bulbs that are available in warm white or cool white. With a low energy consumption of only 2.5 watts they offer a low energy alternative to a 20 watt halogen. G9 LED bulbs are used in various types of light fittings including wall and ceiling lights.
A warm white colour temperature provides a more homely style of light compared to cool white which is whiter and clearer. Used in certain room types cool white G9 LEDs can provide a modern and brighter lighting effect but used incorrectly in can make a room appear cold and harsh. Cool white is better used in rooms with cream or white decor to compliment a more modern feel. Cool white G9 LED bulbs are quite rare especially ones at such a reasonable price.
The compact size of G9 capsule LEDs have made them a popular choice in many light fittings such as pendant lights and wall lights. They have a wide beam spread of 270 degrees which is less focused than a GU10 type lamp. Operating on mains voltage they don't require an additional transformer which has also increased their popularity.
With a long lasting 20,000 hour life expectancy G9 LED light bulbs outlast halogens by around 20 times meaning don't have to keep replacing them.

Specifications Beam Angle SpecificationsEvery light source from an LED to a simple wax candle has a beam angle. A beam angle is a measurement of how the light is distributed. GU10 LEDs and recessed downlights have a fairly narrow beam of around 40 degrees, anything within 5 degrees is classed as a medium beam.
A wax candle or traditional light bulb would have a beam angle of 360 degrees as the light shines all the way around but is less intense.
Combing brighter downlights with wider 60 degree beams allows you to space them out further, reducing the total amount of lights needed.
