Aurora Enlite GU10 downlights are an economy range of fire rated downlights. They are available in fixed adjustable and IP65 versions which are used in bathrooms. IP65 rated downlights are water and dust resistant they can be used in bathroom zones 1 and 2 which includes installing above a shower. Choose between three finishes including white, chrome or satin nickel.
Suitable for use with low energy GU10 LEDs they operate on mains voltage and require no additional transformers or LED drivers. The compact size design is just 110mm in depth (fixed version) allowing them to be used in relatively shallow ceiling voids.
They are fitted with a loop in loop out terminal block which makes wiring easy and reduces installation times. Manufactured to Aurora's usual high standards you can choose between a selection of GU10 LEDs or order the downlights on their own.
Once you've ordered your downlight and GU10 LED you've essentially created your very own LED downlight kit.
When combined with a GU10 LED, these downlights offer one of the most competitively priced fire rated dimmable LED downlight packages on market. We offer many types of GU10 LEDs with different brands, light outputs and beam angles.

Q) Can I lay insulation directly over these downlights?
A) No if you have thermal insulation present then you would either need to cut around it, which isn't energy efficient or take a look at these Aurora insulation coverable downlights. They are fitted with a patented insulation cover cap which allows insulation to be laid directly on top of them. They also have ventilation holes and are a superior choice of product.
Q) Will I need any additional items?
A) Apart from a GU10 lamp (bulb) you don't need anything else. If these downlights are being used to replace older downlights you can use the existing cables or if it's for a new installation then you'll need twin and earth cable.
Q) Which GU10 LEDs do you recommend?
A) We recommend either the Aurora Enlite 5W GU10 LED or the Philips 4.9W GU10 LED. The Aurora 5W is available in 3 colour temperatures and in dimmable or non dimmable versions. With a wide 60 degree beam angle and 480-520 lumen output, its a great choice of bulb. The Philips 4.9W is another great choice; it has a 36 degree beam and 355-380 lumen output. It also has a higher CRI rating of CRI90 which reproduces colours more accurately and is available in a DimTone dimming version that dims in colour tone as well as brightness.

IP (International or Ingress Protection) defines a products level of resistance to dust and moisture. The first digit is for dust and the second digit is for moisture.Anything higher than IP44 can be used in bathroom zones 1 and 2. IP44 is splash proof and resistance to particles larger than 1mm.An IP65 rating offers a higher resistance to moisture and is generally used outdoors. IP65 is usually specified for bathroom downlights but according to the Building Regulations, IP44 provides adequate protection. An IP68 rating is fully water resistant and can be submersed in water, up to 1M in depth.
IP20 Insulation CoverableSpecifications
In order to achieve Part L Compliance (energy efficiency) you shouldn't cut around thermal insulation. If you do this your home or building won't be energy efficient as valuable heat will escape through the hole of the downlight.
A downlight can act like a chimney and draw out warm, rising air from a room, up into the cold space above. The effect is increased in upper floors containing lofts.Insulation coverable downlights allow you to place thermal insulation directly on top of them.More information about insulation coverable downlights.
