Features
Lightwave smart switches are a range of multifunctional light and dimmer switches that are available in 1, 2, 3 and 4 gang versions. These intelligent dimmer switches can do a whole lot more than a traditional dimmer switch and are LED compatible.
Smart Series (formally Lightwave Gen2) products now have 2 way communication this means that the App always knows if a device has been activated or deactivated. Gen1 only had 1 way communication, which meant that if someone was to manually turn off the lights the App wouldn't know. As the App always knows what's happening it also monitors energy usage without needing any other accessories.
Wired (230V) Lightwave smart switches can be used as a retrofit solution to replace existing switches or dimmers. Smart switches work in a similar way to traditional dimmer switches and can be used to dim various types of lights including LED lamps and integrated LED downlights. Smart Series has considerably more functionality than Connect (formally known as Gen1) each smart switch can be programmed to dim either as a master or as a slave. This provides 2 way switching or dimming. Instead of needing a slave dimmer, can do 2 way or even 3 way dimming which means you can dim the same lighting circuit from 2 or more switches (or locations from the room).
Smart Series also allows you to program scenes and set timer functions. A scene can be anything from turning your downlights on at 50% and your wall lights on at 25%, or it could turn your ceilings on at 25% and switch your smart socket on at the same time.
Wired dimmer switches are wired directly into the lighting circuit just like an ordinary light switch or dimmer switch and are designed as an easy to install retrofit solution.
You also need the Link Plus hub which is the interface between the devices and the App. The App provides many features such as the ability to check or control your lights remotely from anywhere in the world!
Voice activated dimming and switch can be achieved in combination with Lightwave and Alexa or Google Home devices. This includes Amazon Echo and Amazon Dot. This combination allows you to control your Lightwave RF devices by voice activation without having to open the Lightwave App and also applies to power sockets heating controls and more. Smart series equipment also works on Apple HomeKit this allows you to control all of your smart products from one App.

Can the led light be turned off? I note that several people say it’s too bright.Question by: Paul Wynne on 22 May 2022, 08:03I've checked and the LED indicator lights on this product can't be turned off. I wouldn't describe them as overly bright however, they are not much brighter than a standby light on most devices.
Answer by: Mathew Smith (Admin) on 25 May 2022, 08:25They can be turned down or off. This requires the Link Plus hub and control is via the Lightwave app (I use iOS so not sure if there is an Android version). There are 6 colour options for the light switch when it is off - it cannot be changed once it is switched on - it's light blue). Lightwave recommend a value of 14% as the minimum the switch light can be dimmed down to, but I use 10% on red and it's fine. Still visible in daylight and not too bright at night time. The AutoOff function in the app will turn switch light off when not in use.Answer by: Mark Wassell on 12 Jan 2023, 14:57 -
